Michael E. Shanks, son of the late Willie and Doris Shanks, was born on February 28, 1956, in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. He received his education through the Baltimore Public School System. Michael was a hard-working young man. He loved to go to work and didn't miss a day. He loved to go to the gym, and he also used to play on a few baseball teams.
He leaves to mourn: His sisters, Cynthia Lee, Gloria Huggins and the late, Roberta Vaughn; two brothers, James Shanks and Alan Shanks; one son, Michael Shanks, Jr.; one brother-in-law, John Lee and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A heart of gold stopped beating, two shining eyes at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us; he only takes the best.

On Thursday, December 4, 2025, family and friends may visit Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212, from 4:30 – 7:00 PM.
