Q: What will you miss most about Patsy?
A: I will miss being able to look over my right shoulder and four rows back on the right hand side and seeing my "Secret Sister" Patsy Smithwick sitting there, with that infectious smile on her face and that assuring look of "I am right here, Sis.". That assurance and comfort can never be replaced.

Sister Patsy always came with a smile on her face and love in her heart. She was genuine in her compassion and took every opportunity to let others know that they were special in the eyes of God. Kind words, a kind heart, helping hands, and persistent prayers - - all mark the spiritual integrity and devotion of Sister Patsy. Our church was blessed by her presence and her passion. She left a legacy of love that will always be remembered and shared among the sisterhood.

I have so many fond memories of Aunt Ann, but the one I hold so dear to my heart is the snow storm of 1983. My work van was coming from DC and it stalled on North Avenue, Aunt Ann's home at that time on Braddish Avenue. It was late, I was cold and my feet were frozen. I made my way to her house and her and Tangie welcomed me with open arms. I stayed there for about 3 days, we had a beautiful time. Now my Aunt Ann has been welcomed home!

Q: What will you miss most about Patsy?
A: Patsy was lovely person and would do anything to make a person feel included. She never had a negative word or thought and directed others in that direction. My favorite memory about Patsy was that she was my prayer partner and my shoulder when I needed her.
I will never forget that smile or the soothing voice. She kept me grounded many times when I was unsure of what to do. Her first response was if I had prayed about it.
I will never forget her loving ways and reassuring nature. May God hold her close to his heart as I do. I will never forget you and may you finally receive the peace you deserve. I love you and will always miss you as God did when he called you home. In Jesus’ name, this is my prayer. Never good bye but until we meet again.

Q: Describe where Patsy worked and what they did
A: Patsy was the lead GI technician at St Joseph Medical Center. She dedicated her passion to the growth of the unit. Along the way, she taught, mentored, encouraged, and lead the team towards successful outcomes. Patsy was a true leader in her profession. She oriented many other technicians and nurses. She was a resource to all, including the physicians. I admired Patsy and her strength. Even through her initial cancer diagnosis, she fought hard. She was a warrior.
Patsy was also a unit mother. She was one of my mother's. She took me under her wing and taught me so much. I will forever miss my momma Patsy. Fly high and pain free. Love always.

Q: What will you miss most about Patsy?
A: I'm going to miss Ms. Pat's smile every time I saw her. We would always have a "lil talk" about how life was going. She would say "Calpona, how you doing?" My reply would be "I'm hanging in there." Rest on now, with a brand new body!

I'm a small business owner here in Georgia since 2019. Ms Patsy has supported me from Day one. She would show up on my live feed whether she was shopping. or just to tease me that I like my dresses short. I was affectionately know to her as Queen B , and grandma to my sweet baby girl Kiahanna. REST WELL MS PATSY .
