Obituary of Delores Maxine Basilio

Delores Maxine Basilio (Green), 75 of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at 0103 at Hospice in Sinai Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Delores was born on October 23, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland, to mother Vandaliah Rebecca Caddell and father James Maston Green. Delores attended Baltimore City public schools in her early years. She graduated from Dunbar High School. She graduated from Morgan State University with a degree in Psychology and from Towson University with a master's degree. Delores worked at the main Post Office in downtown Maryland for 20 years. She later worked for the State retirement office and, lastly, she worked for the Department of Social Services until her retirement in June 2021. Delores received a governor's citation for outstanding work for 22 years. Delores was a member and active participant at The Church of The Redeemed of The Lord for 30 years. Delores was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, known for her jazziness in dressing and love of shopping. Delores is survived by her loving daughter, Veronica Johns, her grandchildren, Tyisha Johns, Dominique Johns, and Dimitri Johns, sister Frances Hogan, brother-in-law Donald Hogan, nieces Shameka and Marcella Kimberly, nephew Craig, great nieces Takiya, Keona, Kendra, Kadeidra, great great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends, she was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Herman Green, grandson Eric Johns,and nephew Donald Hogan Jr. Isaiah 40:31 but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. The family would like to thank the staff at Sinai ICU for their compassionate care during Delore's illness. Please join us in celebrating Delore's life and legacy. She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts. A viewing for Ms. Basilio will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road Randallstown, MD 21133. On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, a homegoing celebration for Ms. Delores Basilio will be held at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road Randallstown, MD 21133, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with services to follow. Immediately following services, the Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.
