Obituary of Mamie Louise Ford

Mamie Louise (Lee) Ford, age 89, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, after a well lived life. Ms. Ford was born in Baltimore, Maryland on April 1, 1936. She attended Dunbar and Douglass High Schools. She was the first to attend college in her family, proudly graduating with a bachelor's degree from Coppin State College in 1963, and a Master of Science degree from Morgan State College in 1972. She taught in the Baltimore City Public School System for 30 years. Upon retirement, she remained active. An avid reader and committed to healthy living, she worked part-time at the Baltimore County Library in Towson, walked regularly, and exercised at LA Fitness. She mentored girls and young women and taught Bible study at Friendship Baptist Church, where she was a longtime member. She will be missed by her loving family and friends. Mamie's homegoing celebration will be on Monday, November 3, 2025, in the chapel at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services-East, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212. The wake will begin at 9:30 AM and service to follow at 10:30 AM. The burial will follow the services in Arbutus Memorial Park.
