SHARON LOIS COOPER was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 16th,1939 to the late Lewis and Mildred Johnson. She was the seventh of twelve children. She departed this life on October 11th, 2025. Sharon attended Morgan State College and later in life studied Interior Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. In 1961, she was hired as a File Clerk at the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, Maryland. She studied computer programming and operations and became a Computer Specialist. In 1994, she retired from Social Security after 32 years of service. Sharon was affectionately known as 'Shay' to her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was the second mother to her nieces, nephews and younger siblings. Shay loved having afternoon tea every day of the week, along with lunch on Saturdays with her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed family game days with her sisters and nieces, playing Pokeno, Left Center Right and Bingo. Forever to cherish the memories of Shay are her daughter, Melody (William) Burton; granddaughters, Cori Bowen and Daria Burton; great granddaughters, Kendall Bowen and Sadie Alexander; Sisters, Norma Shaw and Carol Barrett; and brothers George (Stella) Johnson, James (Barbara) Johnson, and Harry (Tanya) Johnson. Shay is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
