Mr. Anthony Martin, age 63, transitioned from labor to reward on September 23, 2025.He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: a beloved daughter, Joyce and wife, Norieta.
On Thursday, October 9, 2025, a homegoing celebration for Mr. Anthony Martin will be held at the Vaughn Greene Chapel at Randallstown, 8728 Liberty Road, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Anthony Martin was born on June 5, 1962, to the late Powell and Ethel Martin in Baltimore, Maryland. As the youngest of eight children, he was always teasing, joking, and bonding with his brothers and sisters. He was baptized at a young age by Reverend Page at Gethsemane Baptist Church. Well-known and beloved throughout the neighborhood, Anthony worked as a paperboy in his early years. As a teenager, he developed a strong fascination for construction and mechanical systems. He took various courses in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and automotive repair. Anthony used these skills throughout his life to fix and improve items (sometimes better than the original) with remarkable talent. He was gifted with assembly - no instructions necessary. Anthony graduated from Frederick Douglass High School and attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, pursuing a career in the culinary arts. He worked at several restaurants in Baltimore and was employed at Nalley Fine Foods, where he met his future wife, Norieta. After moving to Alexandria, Virginia, he held various jobs, started a power washing business, and assisted family members with home improvement projects. He married Norieta in 1996 and they later welcomed their daughter, Joyce Anne Mabel Martin (named after family members on both sides). Anthony was a family man and Joyce was the pride and joy of his life. He was a hands-on father, taking Joyce to pediatrician appointments, school, camps, and family vacations. He taught her to truly embrace a love for games — with a competitive nature, laughter, and life. He also instilled in his daughter the importance of entrepreneurship, stating that being your own boss should be the goal of your career. Anthony loved nature, gardening, and stargazing with his telescope. He enjoyed bird watching and capturing special moments with his professional camera. He often traveled to Baltimore to spend cherished time with his siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Anthony transitioned on Friday, September 19, 2025, and reunited with his parents, Powell and Ethel, sister Sheila Anne, and brothers Tyrone (Mildred), Marshall, and Michael. Left to cherish his many fond memories are his wife Norieta, daughter Joyce, sisters Cynthia Jackson (Gilbert), Valerie Hawkins (Ronald), and Grace Kenney (Anthony), mother- and father-in-law Gloria and William Goings Jr., sisters-in-law Joyce Martin and Cassandra Renée Goings-Colwell (William III), God-daughter Keisa Jackson, life-long friends James Palmer and Cash Philson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends.
