Obituary of Gwendolyn Ann Logan

Please share a memory of Gwendolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Gwendolyn Ann Logan was born on Tuesday, November 23, 1965, in Baltimore, MD. On this day Gwendolyn's proud parents Father Edward Logan (preceded in death) and Mother Debra Patricia Pretlow (preceded in death) welcomed their youngest baby girl into their loving arms. Gwendolyn departed this life on Monday, August 25, 2025, after a lengthy health battle. Gwendolyn Ann Logan was affectionately known as "Gwenie" by her family and a host of friends. Gwendolyn received her education in the Baltimore City Public school systems. After completing her public-school education. Some years later Gwenie decided to further her education and scholastic achievements at Harbor City Academic Center, where she was Awarded Special recognition with the Graduating Class of 1986. Gwenie was a very smart young woman and possessed exemplary accounting skills. Gwendolyn's employment tenure was with Provident Hospital and the Department of Veteran Affairs in Baltimore, MD. Gwenie later relocated to Philadelphia, PA where she worked for the Department of Child Protective Services. Later in the 1990's Gwenie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was Baptized at National Temple Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA. Gwenie actively attended the new members class and received the right hand of fellowship. Gwendolyn loved her family. Gwenie had a big heart, an infectious smile and her presence in any room radiated. No matter where Gwenie lived or traveled people were drawn to her sweet smile and her distinct laughter. Gwenie had one daughter Shannae Burke, whom she loved dearly. Gwenie and Shannae shared special messages to one another. Such as: "It's me and you against the world." And "We are all we got!" It goes without saying Gwenie spoke personally of things to her daughter that only a caring parent could share. Shannae, your mother was precious. So, hold on to her memories in your heart. She sweetly loved you. Gwenie always made a high fashion impression in her sequined outfits, petite ruffled dresses and tops, and silk pantsuits. Oh, how well she knew to turn up the dance floor at a party. Her dance steps could very easily be with or without a dance partner. The party girl took the floor with a big smile and stepped to the sultry sounds of Anita Baker and smooth lyrics of Luther Vandross music. Gwenie would enjoy her evening out. Gwenie surrounded herself with very special friends from the Cator Avenue crew; Alice Jennings, Donna and Denise Brewer, and Theresa Brewer – preceded in death. They shared a sisterly bond over many, many years. Gwenie embraced great friends and fostered a sisterhood bond in Philadelphia, PA. This group of friends kept a close and special relationship with Gwenie. They all truly loved her from the earth to the moon and from the moon back to the earth. What an affectionate love this group of women and guys had for Gwendolyn, and she cared greatly for them as well.
