A viewing for Mr. Irving will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road Randallstown, MD 21133. On Thursday, August 21, 2025, a homegoing celebration for Mr. Marc Irving will be held at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road Randallstown, MD 21133, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with services to follow. Marc Anthony Irving, affectionately known as Tony, was born on March 27, 1962, to the late Thomasine Saretta Boyd-Irving and Manuel William Irving Sr. He was a beloved husband, father, mentor, and friend who transitioned peacefully from this life on August 1, 2025, at the age of 63. Born in East Baltimore, Tony was raised by his loving grandmother, Nannie Lee Boyd, alongside his two siblings, Michele and Manuel Jr. Their home was filled with faith, perseverance, and strong community values. One of Tony's favorite childhood pastimes was attending the dollar movie screenings at the Mayfair theatre with his siblings while eating donuts. He embraced his faith in Christ at an early age, embarking on a lifelong journey marked by compassion and dedication. Tony received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System and proudly graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational- Technical HighSchool (Mervo), where he studied cabinetry. After completing his education, Tony enlisted in the United States Army in 1980 and served honorably for four years as an Armor Specialist. At just 15 years old, he met the love of his life, April Barnett. Their bond blossomed into a marriage on June 25, 1988, at FountainBaptist Church, officiated by Rev . Herman A. Ford. Tony and April loved to travel, bowl, and host large gatherings for family and friends. They enjoyed spirited debates around the firepit and shared a passion for experiencing the world together, cherishing their love for nearly five decades. Tony also had a deep love for music and enjoyed singing, showcasing his lovely falsetto voice. Together, they welcomed a beautiful daughter, Whÿsper Camille, who quickly became the joy of Tony's life. A natural athlete himself, Tony found deep fulfillment in mentoring young people—a passion that led him to coach track at Mervo, as well as his daughter's track and field, basketball, and soccer teams. Tony devoted 20 years to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, serving as a correctional officer in Jessup, MD, and Baltimore City. His enduring love for sports eventually guided him to a distinguished career in sports security with Safe Management. There, his professionalism, leadership, and calm presence earned him the admiration and respect of all who worked with him. Beyond his professional life, Tony poured his heart into youth mentorship, offering guidance with wisdom, patience, and genuine care. He was affectionately known and proudly embraced the name "Uncle Tony." He will be remembered for his unwavering love as a husband, dedication as a father, and positive influence in the lives of countless young people. His legacy is one of faith, service, and love—a life lived with purpose and generosity. Tony leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, April Irving, and his beloved daughter, Whÿsper Irving. He is also survived by his siblings, Michele Irving and Manuel Irving Jr.; his father-in-law, James Barnett Sr.; brothers-in-law, James Barnett Jr. and David Barnett Sr.; nieces, Monica "Monie" Irving, Mylliah Irving, Meiah Irving, and Kendra Barnett; nephew, David Barnett Jr., Isaiah Barnett, and Jaden Barnett; great-nephews, DeQuane Irving and Kendrick Irving; great-niece, Breasia Coit; and great-great-nieces, Cali and Dreu Irving. He also leaves behind his cherished godchildren, his best friend Marvin Jennings (Towanda Jennings), and his favorite cousin Emmett Holmes (Cheryl Holmes), aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of extended family, dear friends, and the many young people whose lives he touched and inspired. Tony now joins in eternal rest his beloved parents, Thomasine Saretta Boyd-Irving and Manuel William Irving Sr.; his grandmothers, Nannie Lee Boyd and Ruthie Irving; mother-in-law Jacqueline Barnett; and all those who went before him.
