Q: What will you never forget about Marilyn?
A: I worked indirectly with Marilyn. I appreciated her wealth of knowledge and passion for her job at CMS. After educating me, she would leave me with some humor and a smile. :)

It’s hard to believe that my funny, witty, smart, sometimes silly, always positive, lifetime dear friend (since 3rd grade) is now gone. Too many great times to recap here. So many special memories of us and the rest of our “crew” (me, Phyllis Atkins, Shelley Thomas and for many years Arista Garnes (who left us far too soon). God blessed me with time spent with “Meryl” as recently as 2 weeks ago when her usual “sparkling personality” was on full display. My heart is heavy and I will miss her terribly. RIP my dearest sister and friend. May the God of all comfort surround her family and friends at this time.
Love,
Darlene Bagby

Marilyn, so conservative and sensible. I think you had your career mapped out in elementary school and you were headed there. You wouldn't look twice at ___ (he may still be in Baltimore:-) who tried to get your attention...was that the fifth grade? Your focus and discipline was always amazing. I think you served as a candy striper in a hospital as soon as you were old enough.
So, how did you end up with your madcap friends? ( I've always wondered how you explained the mud on your nice satin shoes after one of our high school escapades.) Ahem... Nevertheless, your dedication and focus has served you well to many accomplishments and service to others. Your friends loved your sense of humor and readiness to laugh.
I think you were determined to leave the world a better place with your many charitable efforts and other inspiring programs. I believe you did.
May God be pleased with your works and dedicated service. This friend is very proud of you.
Love, Shelley

Dear family,
My heart is broekn at the sad news of the passing of my sister/friend Marilyn aka Meryl as we knew her. Over 64 years, we laughed , partied, travelled, enjoyed jazz, did community service work and celebrated special occasions of our families, from third grade until as recently as two weeks ago. She was a dedicated and well loved public servant even into retirement. Thw community she served will definitely miss her.
We on earth know not the time or the hour. What a shock to learn that she gained her wings and is now rejoicing with God, family and friends. As believers we know we will see her again.
Rest in perfect peace my angel sister friend. You will continue to be remembered at every gathering because it wont be the same without your wit, frankness and smile. No matter what bothered us, we could laugh about it. and what belly laughs we enjoyed. I will forever remember and cherish the baby shower swim party! And every happy moment we spent together over 64 years. A true blessing from God. I will miss your.
Love, Phyl

I only met Marilyn once at a gathering in Crisfield Maryland. But I loved her quick wit and fun personality. She will fit right in with the no nonsense angels in heaven. May the Great I Am comfort this family in their time of need.

I will always remember Marilyn from Western High School being besties with Phyllis Atkins, Darlene Bailey and Shelley Thomas. I met her because I knew Phyllis. Marilyn was always funny and had a sharp wit. I’ll miss her at the lunches around the Baltimore, Annapolis and Columbus area that we went to as senior retired ladies. Rest well Marilyn. As our departed classmate Sandye always said, “May you rest in peace and rise in Glory.”

My Dearest Friend. Go forth my Angel. You are now at Peace. I will miss your laughter. I will miss our amazing conversations. We will all miss your support and kindness.
The world for many has been a better place because of you. I know that you are dancing in heaven surrounded by Jazz artists and praying for those of us whom remain in this earthly place for now.
Thank you for sharing YOU and your multitude of gifts on behalf of those most in need. Your legacy is firmly planted.
