Obituary of Nathan Elijah Armstrong, Jr.

Please share a memory of Nathan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nathan Elijah Armstrong Jr. son of the late Nathan E. Armstrong Sr. and Rosa Lee Armstrong was born June 15, 1953, in Pasquotank County, North Carolina. God reached out His hand of mercy and invited him home on Tuesday June 10, 2025. Nathan was affectionately known as "Bummie" by his family and friends. He attended Baltimore City Public Schools. Nathan was employed by Norship Co. Shipyard In North Carolina and Sparrows Point Shipyard in Baltimore, Maryland. He ended his career at Court House Square Apartments in Towson. Nathan was known for his sense of humor, cooking, playing spades and talking trash. He worked hard to keep his family together and strong. He gave his life to Christ at an early age at Mount Carmel Baptist church in Elizabeth City North Carolina. He joined Mount Pleasant Church and ministries in Baltimore as an adult and worshiped there until his demise. Nathan married Claudine Alston in 1972. From this union two daughters were born, Andrea and Teera. This journey added Nathan, Phillip, and Melissa, creating a blended family. Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan E. and Rosa Lee Armstrong, sister Monica Johnson and brother Philip Armstrong. He leaves to cherish his memory a host of loved ones: a devoted wife Claudine, three daughters Arndrea Armstrong ,Teera Bullock (Damon), and Melissa Burks-Simmons (Jeffrey), two sons Nathan Franklin(LaDonna) and Phillip Armstrong (Daphanie), twelve grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, stepmother Carolyn Armstrong, three sisters Deena Martin (Johnnie),Catherine Bailey, and Patrice Carreras (Brian),Father-in-law Claude Alston (lily), sisters-in-law Senora Green (Irven), Janet Alston and Adrienne Eggleston, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the memories, love, and laughter he shared with us. Bummie will never be forgotten.
