Obituary of Gilda Letichia Gibbs

Gilda Letichia Gibbs departed this life at the age of 62 on March 15,2025. She was the daughter of the late David Lee Gibbs Sr. and Edna Berlene Bailey Gibbs, born September 8,1962 in Statesville, North Carolina. At a young age her family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where she attended Baltimore city public school. Gilda was a graduate of Patterson High School and attended Morgan State afterwards. While attending college Gilda worked as a cashier at Food Town supermarket on Broadway. Gilda changed her career path and started working for the United States Postal Service. She retired from the post office with 31 years of service during the month of September 2024. Never a stranger to hard work, Gilda often worked long hours to ensure that her son Terrell was taken care of. She always made time after work for her family and friends with a bright smile and a helping hand. Gilda enjoyed traveling, shopping, dancing (although stiff), playing softball and spending time with her granddaughter Jazelle, her pride and joy. Gilda was preceded in death by her sister Lorie Y. Bailey-Ojo and brother David Lee Gibbs Jr. We will cherish the memories of her beautiful life forever in our hearts. Gilda leaves to mourn her son Terrell K. Harvey, 1 granddaughter Jazelle Harvey,1 brother Reginald A. Gibbs,1 brother-in-love Michael B. Ojo, 2 nephews Bayode'Ojo, bonus nephew Clarence Traynham,1 niece Teronne Traynham,1 uncle Eric Patterson, 5 aunts Catherine Patterson, Marva J. Bailey, Rosie Bailey, Jacquelyn Gibbs, Mae L. Gibbs,1 goddaughter Jenneya Cook and a host of cousins, relatives and friends. Friends who became family were Kevin Carpenter her bonus brother, Delores Kirby her childhood friend along with her sister friends Cheryll Brown Lockes, Tracie Johnson, and Natalie Wright.
