Obituary of Barbara Deloris Bowser

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Barbara Deloris Bowser, who passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born on February 21, 1937, in Emporia, Virginia, to the late Louise H. Flemming and Arthur Ratcliff. Barbara's life was marked by love, dedication, and service. She was married to and survived by Leroy E. Bowser, and through 55 years together they shared a life full of joy and cherished memories. She was a proud mother to Darius L. Ratcliff (Letha T. Ratcliff) and a devoted grandmother to Ameasha L. Ratcliff, Ericka L. Ratcliff, and Darius L.S. Ratcliff. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Kennedy V. Tate and Ja'Niya M. Mincy, who brought her immense pride and joy. Barbara had a distinguished career as a Maryland State Juvenile Corrections Counselor, where she dedicated many years of her life to helping young people. She retired with great pride after making a lasting impact on her community and the lives she touched. Barbara was strongly devoted Christian woman known for her kindness, wisdom, directness and unwavering strength. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her cherished memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all those whose lives she touched. Calling hours will be Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn C. Greene Funeral Services, 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD (21212). The service to celebrate Barbara's life & homegoing will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with service to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Vaughn C. Greene Chapel-East, located at 4905 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212. Interment to follow in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Rd., Owings Mills, MD 21117 at 1:00 p.m.
