Obituary of Deborah Ann Morrisey
Deborah Ann Morrisey, daughter of Mrs. Pearlie M. Morrisey and the late Luther G. Morrisey, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 27, 2025, around 5:00 AM after a lengthy illness.
Deborah was born on September 13, 1956, at Freedmen's Hospital in Washington, D.C. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where she attended public schools and graduated from Forest Park Senior High School in 1974. A bright student, Deborah was a member of the National Honor Society and consistently made the honor roll. She furthered her education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Deborah joined Wayland Baptist Church under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. Hoffman Brown and was a dedicated and faithful member until her health prevented her from attending. She cherished music and was a member of the choir, where she occasionally led songs. Additionally, she showcased her creativity through poetry as a published poet. Deborah loved to read the Bible and other books, enjoyed taking photographs, and spent countless hours on her computer.
After relocating to Randallstown, Maryland, she worshiped at New Life Church with Pastor Walter Braxton.
Deborah leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mrs. Pearlie M. Morrisey; two brothers, Larry D. Morrisey (Vanessa) and Dexter D. Morrisey; and sister/cousin, Mrs. Carolyn J. Thornton (Johnny). She is also survived by her nephew, Larry D. Morrisey Jr. (Tiera); nieces Lauren, Brittany, and Shannon; and two great-nieces, Maddison and Riley Morrisey. She is also remembered by her Aunt Isabell Oates of Clinton, NC, Uncle Eddie J. Wooten (Margaret) of Oxford, NC, and a host of relatives and friends.
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Luther G. Morrisey, and her sister, Ester "Boo" Carr.
God saw the road was getting rough
The hills were hard to climb;
He gently closed her loving eyes,
And whispered, "Peace be thine."
Her weary hours, her days of pain,
Her weary nights are passed;
Her ever patient, worn out frame,
Has found sweet rest at last.
We will miss her, but will always
cherish her memory.
