Ruth J. Logan transitioned from this life to the next on September 17, 2022. Ruth was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 4, 1929 to the late Mamie and James Bridgeford. She was the sixth of their eight children. Ruth was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system, earning her diploma from Frederick Douglas High School in 1947. She achieved the honor of Salutatorian of that graduating class. Ruth was employed by the University Of Maryland Hospital from 1948 until 1967 as a food service worker and later a supervisor. In 1967, she left the University of Maryland to become an analyst and supervisor with the Federal Government at the Social Security Administration, she later migrated to the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) and retired with the Federal Government in 2004. On August 31, 1947, she married William Henry Williams. They became the proud parents of three children, Yvonne, Kenneth Sr. and Jeffrey Sr. After William's death in 1961, Ruth remained a widow until August of 1975 when she married Delmar Logan. There were no children from this union, but they were a devoted couple until he preceded her in death in 1987. In 1961 she joined the Christian Community Church of God under the leadership of Elder Conway Green and later under his son Dr. Melvin Green, the current Pastor. She served there for almost 69 years, remained until her death. Ruth was a charter member of the Pulpit Aides and the Mother's Club. She served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Pulpit Aides and Business Manager of the Mother's Club. Ruth was a warm and eternally giving and caring person. She leaves to mourn a devoted daughter, Yvonne Johnson, 2 daughters in law, Sheila Williams and Mary Williams, 7 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 4 great grandsons, 10 great granddaughters, 2 great, great grandsons, 3 great, great granddaughters, 6 nieces and 2 nephews. Her two beloved sons, Kenneth A. Williams Sr. and Jeffrey L. Williams Sr, also preceded her in death. Ruth Logan spent her final days living in Kennesaw GA residing with her daughter who she loved dearly. She lives on in all of the lives she has touched and the immense amount of love she has given. A viewing for Mrs. Logan will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD 21133. On Monday, September 26, 2022, a homegoing celebration for Mrs. Ruth Logan will be held at Christian Community Church, 2701 W. Baltimore Street (Baltimore, MD 21223) where the family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. with services to follow. The interment services will take place at Druid Ridge Cemetery immediately following the homegoing service.
